Jake's father and I attended the Columbia High School TV Production Awards
dinner last night honoring the 2009 seniors. Columbia HS, as well as
having their own TV Station airing on cable TV in the morning &
evening gives students the opportunity to write, direct, star in and
produce their own "shorts".It was a great evening as the Class of '09 were presented with awards for their creativity, their effort and their work ethic.
Little did I know that awards were also being given to the lower classman for the same and that the new CHS TV Production Staff would be inducted for the 09/10 season.
Even less did I understand just how instrumental our son Jake was this past Junior year. I knew he was working on several projects... that he would often stay late, after school (until baseball season, of course) working in the studio with friends and CHS staff... that he came home with straight A's from Mr. Camp...I knew he loved what he was doing behind the scenes.
What we found out until Thursday nite:

Best Editor - Jake Lasofsky
Best Junior - Jake Lasofsky
Director of the PM News - Jake Lasofsky
This on top of also being named the News Editor of "The Columbian" newspaper.
His father and I cried joyfully as our son of 17 was honored by his teachers and peers.
I guess we did something right! Maybe nagging actually helps!
