"Pretend you’re going on vacation!
Have you ever noticed how much more productive you are on the
days just prior to going on vacation? You’re busy tying up loose ends
and making last minute preparations." Dana Warren, senior vice president of staffing provider Kelly Services How true is this for you? I happen to find myself most productive when there's a deadline looming and much more on my plate. And yes, just before I'm preparing to leave for a few days I'm like a whirling dervish. Everything gets planted in its right place, projects are suddenly and completely under control, phone calls and emails are returned, and my office is pristine. What's that all about??? The antithesis of procrastination! I think I'll ask my boss for some time off (lol.)
Oh I so do that...my bed is made, all laundry is washed, folded and put away, all the dishes are washed and the kitchen is clean too. I grew up this way and I remember this story that makes me smile....my mom was watching the neighbors house while they were on vacation and when she checked on the house she commented that they must have had left in a hurry because all of their shoes are in a mess by the front door. What I now realize is that not everyone uses this form of "vacation time managment" but the use the "chaos" method. Melissa
