Let's face it - life 's a circus and we're the juggling act. With kids, more sports activities, doctor appointments, jobs, household, volunteering, not to mention finding time to put your feet up, more is just plain more. So we FINALLY created the New BBB Weekly Fridge GRID Pad with 7 columns because more planning means we need more space. It's UNdated - just fill in the month and the appropriate dates.
Just like BusyBodyBook, planning is side by side. The Fridge Grid Pad is magnetic - stick it on the fridge or just leave it out - the entire family (yes, Dad too) knows where they should be and where everyone else is, everyday. No more excuses. Got lots of kids? Lots of chores? Lots of projects, clients to track? Lots of ToDo's? I do!
Sunday night is my time to start planning the new week. First, I look at what either did not get touched or completed the week before (these I've already circled to make them easier to spot). Then, I fill in what's upcoming. OY!
The Pad that I use is stuck to my filing cabinet. I head my columns with:
- Calls
- Vendors
- Customers to follow up with - you guys, booksellers, gift store reps
- Other communication - staff, the press, reviewers, affiliates
- Projects - I usually have at least 2-3 ongoing projects to track
- Appointments outside the office (business and personal)
My "ALERTS" are simply highlighted (yes, I do use markers) in green - can't ignore the green! And each project has it's own color (matched to a coordinated file folder).
So what do I use my very portable BusyBodyBook for? It's is never any further away then my elbow - I take it everywhere. I use columns for: Jake, my personal appointments, biz appointments, calls to make when I'm on the road. Last, but hardly least, is the famous MISCELLANEOUS column - it's my "junk drawer". Everything I HAVE to accomplish during the week - hardly "junk" but my most hideous list - bill paying, dry cleaning, chores, reminders, cards to send, ...
How do you use you BusyBodyBook? Publish it right here! Truth be told - even I could use a few more good ideas!
